Thelypteris palustris is native to Canada, the eastern-half of the United States (including Texas), Europe, Asia, the Caribbean (Bermuda and Cuba), as well as Peru.

Listed as exploitably vulnerable in the state of New York.

Has thrived here in zone 9b. Not common in nurseries locally.
