I am doing my PhD on this species, as well as L. binervosum and they are highly invasive and weedy. Both have invaded numerous sites across the south coast of Australia and have caused severe damage to many coastal habitats. These plant should not be used, there are many beautiful native plant species that can be grown which will not have the negative effects on our coastal habitats that L. hyblaeum and L. binervosum have.
