I am a sucker for purple daylilies, and amethyst is my birthstone, so this one was a must have for me. ;-) It has not disappointed. The deep purple of the flowers has to be seen to be believed. It's very colorfast in the hot summer sun. I don't think the scapes are 30" on my plant, but I've grown it in a pot for 2 years, which might make a difference. I actually like the shorter scape a bit better.
