Selected by Margaret Easter who holds a National Collection of Thymus in UK. This new thyme was named for her mother Marjorie, her gardening inspiration since childhood. Thymus 'Marjorie' was a chance seedling in one of mrs. Easter thyme beds in 1995. In 2007 it has been launched at RHS Chelsea Flowershow and is now available as a licenced plant.
Thymus 'Marjorie' has highly aromatic foliage (in fact it is heavenly sweet scented!) and proper pink flowers, unlike the pale mauve of common thyme.
