Some resources list Ipomoea seeds as poisonous if large quantities are ingested.
The toxic principals include indole alkaloids and others.
Symptoms include hallucinations, dilated pupils, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, numbness of extremities, and muscle tightness.
We tend to err on the side of caution in PlantFiles, and the danger notation in the details above is to warn gardeners, parents and pet owners to look further for more information.

Very pretty heart shaped leaves can be an ornamental plant too. Fat stalks, vigorous grower, long shaped sweet potatoes with pretty purple skins. They tend to grow a bit more crooked rather than long and straight, but still a very good sweet potato. Mild taste that is best boiled or made into hash browns. Can be used like a spud potato, but is sweeter. "
