As described by Sakata: "Captain Jack is an extra large, Jack-O-Lantern type pumpkin with excellent dark orange color and thick flesh. The thick flesh and flat bottom enables the fruit to stand on its own and not collapse under its own weight. The extremely large, thick and embedded handle matches the large size of this pumpkin. The large and vigorous plant can support several fruits."
