Hardy perennial from North America which ranges from Alaska down to California. Has rosette forming basal, mid-green , kidney shaped leaves up to 2 inches across. Bears a solitary, bowl shaped, 5 petalled, white flower.

Flowers July-September.

Native of bog and wetlands. Enjoys a humus rich, poorish, wet but not stagnant soil.
