I saw this at the local big-box store this spring and had to try it, as we don't have rhododendrons this far south. It was planted in March and so far seems to be holding up pretty well; but the test will be in August, when the days are almost always in the 90s and up. I'll report back next spring. I hope it makes it!

‘Janet Blair’ x pink form of R. hyperythrum. Compact habit, 4-5’ tall by 4-5’ wide .Medium pink buds open to white with prominent maroon blotch. Thrives in the deep south. USDA Zones 6-9.
New Southgate Series Rhododendron. Bred for southern heat tolerance.
