MOUNT ARARAT (Emnerich 2009) scape height 34 inches bloom size 6 inches, Midseason + Rebloom, Tetraploid, Semi-Evergreen, Fragrant, Diurnal, bud count 24, branches 5, dark purple with lavender eye & edge

I planted this last fall after receiving 2 fans as a GIFT(yay!!!) from Karol Emmerich's Springwood Gardens. This plant's perfect first flower took my breath away with its deep, rich, clear purple color. It's very striking. I'm so excited to watch it grow knowing that daylilies tend to get better as they mature, though I can't imagine it any better than this! I posted 2 pics of the ffo that were taken after a very heavy downpour, which didn't even effect the flower a bit! It also has a ton of buds on its FIVE scapes- so with that + rebloom it looks like I'll get to enjoy these blooms for a very long time. If you're contemplating purchasing Mount Ararat...don't hesitate- you will not be disappointed!
