Bulbous perennial from the USA mainly found in California.

Has strap like, linear, mid-green leaves upto 16 inches long. Bears 1-3 cup like, slightly hairy, 3 petalled, white, cream, lavender or yellow flowers with brownish, orange markings at the base of each petal upto 3 inches across.

Likes dryish, well drained, sandy, loamy soil in full sun. These are winter growing bulbs, keep them dry when dormant in the summer and water freely when in growth.

Fairly free from pests and disease problems.
