"Charon is a hybrid early western shipper round cantaloupe with medium net, bright orange flesh and high brix. It was the top pick in the DPS San Joaquin Valley trials in 2004. This is an early maturing variety that has an excellent shelf life and produces a high percentage of 9ís and 12ís. Its tight cavity gives this melon great flesh depth. Summer/fall production cycle in cantaloupe production area. Tolerant to Fusarium Wilt Race 0, 1 and 2, Powdery Mildew Race 2. 70 days. " New England Seed
