RHS Award of Garden Merit 1993. Bushy semi-evergreen perennial to 90cm tall, with narrow, dark green foliage and erect racemes of tubular bell-shaped. The deep wine-red flowers are 3 cm long and are marked white in the throat. It should be quite hardy in my region if it is planted on a sunny well-drained spot. Survived our relative harsh winter with temps -20C for several weeks. Has stayed wintergreen also.
