A clump forming perennial from Turkey.

Has lance like, spiney, dark green leaves. Bears short spikes of pale yellow - greenish, tubular flowers in pale green bracts.

Flowers late May-July

Likes well drained soil in partial shade but will tolerate sun too. Has a long tap root and appreciates a deep soil.

Unusual plant for a large rock garden.
