Small,cushion perennial from Europe to Western Asia.

Has rosettes of evergreen, linear, hairy, mid green leaves. Bears flat, white flowers with yellow or red 'eyes'.

Flowers March-May

Likes a moist, well drained, gritty soil in full sun. Dislikes winter wet on the leaves.
