A perennial from New Zealand.

Has rosettes of grass like, mid green leaves. Bears densely packed, butter yellow, star shaped flowers borne similar to Muscari species, with the flowers opening from the bottom first giving the apperance of a small green cone above the first flowers until the head is fully opened.

Flowers between April and July.

Likes a moist, well drained, neutral - acid soil in sun or shade.

Only hardy down to 25F so give winter cover in frost prone areas.

Easy from seed, sow thinly in pots of moist compost, cover lightly and keep at around 15-20C (approx 60-70F).
