A perennial from Arctic, Northern and mountains in central Europe.

Has mid green, fleshy, 3 lobed and divided leaves. Bears white, single, 5 petalled flowers which may picotee pink at the edges as the flower ages. Flower has 5 sepals with brown hairs and a bright yellow central boss of stamens.

Flowers June to August.

Likes well drained, neutral-acid soil in full sun. Appreciates a little midday shade in areas where the summer gets very hot.
