Small, bulbous perennial from South Africa.

Has lance shaped, purple or pale green spotted, mid green leaves. Bears tubular, slightly inflated, pendant, metallic blue-green flowers.

Flowers (N Hemisphere) January-March.

Likes a moist, well drained soil in full sun. Keep dry when the bulbs are dormant in summer.

Will not tolerate frost so best kept in a cool greenhouse, too much warmth will cause the leaves to grow too long and flop over. Will multiply via bulbils rapidly where happy.
