A clump forming, variable perennial from Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia.

Has mid green, pedate leaves which have many toothed, lance shaped lobes. Bears saucer shaped, thinish petalled, purple or purple and green flowers sometimes semi-double.

Flowers February-April

Likes neutral, humus rich, well drained, clayish soil in light shade. Will tolerate full sun.
