Despite the fact that this delicate fern died back in the summer heat, I moved it to a cooler, shadier place and diligently watered it after cutting it back to the soil line. It came out and has never given me another bit of trouble. It went through our terrible summer and 3 hurricanes (I did move it to a protected spot).
