On my property this is a thick, hardy native evergreen with very fragrant mid to late May blossoms. The blossoms only occur in sun and on old growth. The native soil is sandy, and well draining. This plant is "popping up" all along the ditch banks and fence lines, growing up to 3 feet per year.
