ANVIL OF DARKNESS: (Sterling Innerst, R. 1998). Sdlg. 3936-10. TB 29" (75 cm) M. "Black self; beards black; slight fragrance. 2336-3: (By Night x Swazi Princess) X Before the Storm., Innerst 1998." Very black in color with blue beards even though the 'official' description above says they're 'black', I see blue! With my difference of opinion aside, it's a GREAT iris! I also grow one of its parents, 'Before The Storm' which is also a nice iris. I rate it a positive for color alone.
