I grow these plants in full sun in Cental Florida, and they do wonderful. These are magnificent plants, multiply quickly, and mine grew to about 10 feet this summer.

In zone 6 I left them in the ground year round and they spread like wildfire, guess they like the most clay soil! They were happy in Full sun to part shade, all they required is a building or fence to shield them from strong winds which will shred thier leaves. Not much of a flower, small red blooms, but the big leaves and height (mine got as high as 6ft) were what I loved about them.
