I bought these as a six-pack of bedding plants in the spring of 2006. One weak plant died while I hardened them off, but the other five survived. I planted three in the ground, facing south in a windy, exposed area. I gave the other two to a neighbour. The flowers are big and beautiful, and the plants are pretty easy to care for. The stalks are sturdy and they can withstand strong winds with ease. However, their flowering cycle ends earlier than most other annuals and once it's done, the whole plant rapidly declines. Still, I will definitely include these in future gardening plans.

'Pink Beauty' is a truly lovely flower, and it blooms prolifically from mid summer to fall. Lavatera is easy to grow from seed, and sometimes it self-sows.
