From the "Encyclopedia of Hydrangeas," (Van Gelderen -2004), the description reads: "A shrub of moderate growth. Flowers in flattened corymbs, late, pink or light blue with remote white stripes. Not often seen in gardens, it is an excellent pot plant. Not suitable for alkaline soils. Bred by August Steiniger, Germany, in 1957.
