In "Hydrangeas for American Gardens," by Michael A. Dirr (2004), it says that the shoots are stout, leaves thick and deep green. Grows to 3'-4' tall. This cultivar flowers from terminal buds only. Double serrated sepals and flowers with white centers in early stage of blooming. Flowers are soft pink in alkaline; pale violet in acid soils.
