From the "Encyclopedia of Hydrangeas," (Van Gelderen -2004), " A shrub up to 3.5', well growing with firm branches. Flowerheads almost round, very free-flowering, pink to red in alkaline soil, lilac to violet in acid soil. It is one of the best hortensias availiable today. Also one of the best pot plants. Bred by Brugger, Germany, about 1950.
