I planted this in 2006, in a location getting morning shade and afternoon sun. I've since discovered that this is the *opposite* of what macrophyllas usuall like.

I put neutral, as it is a perfectly acceptable hydrangea, but not at all exciting. Mopheads are relatively small (about4" diameter), leaves are an average green, and it is slow growing for me. It is also very squat - branches shoot out almost horizontally at ground level, no matter how I try to train it. For me, flowers are a pale-ish rose pink - nothing really spectacular, but not objectionable either. I have not bothered tweaking the soil's acidity to adjust the bloom color.

Ok...but I would not buy another one. Just not very exciting.
