This is a new plant for me, I bought two last fall and have them in corners of my garden. I did see one in bloom and they are lovely, but I wanted to say I love the verigation on the leaves, it is strikingly different.

From the source "Encyclopedia of Hydrangeas" C.J. and D.M. Van Gelderen (2004 - Timber Press):

Tall and vigorous growing, sometimes up to 6.5'. The leaves are conspicuously variegated with greenish white and yellow. Flowerheads are large, ray flowers are arranged in an irregular ring, pale pink to white. Flowering time is in August. Very free flowering. This cultivar needs a protected spot in the garden and is grateful for some shade. It has been confused with 'Quadricolor', which is different in the flowerheads. Sometimes regarded as a sport of 'Mariesii" but this is highly questionable as 'Mariesii' was not in cultivation at that time. Bred by Rovere of Pallanza, Italy, before 1860.
