though this is a very attractive plant and has been around a long time, it is not a true species, but a hybrid of Aeonium canariense and arboreum.

I've owned this plant and its off-spring for about 25 years. Prone to mealy bugs if allowed to be in wet/humid conditions. Can be damaged by hail if grown in ground.

No matter how bad it looks, it almost always recovers and new rosettes come easily. Rosettes are almost completely flat and can be up to 12" in diameter. I've grown it in many situations including as a house plant, greenhouse plant, and in ground. It has always remained completely green no matter the light conditions.

I am studying succulents on the Canaries sinds 14 years, and I am twice a year (April and May and also October) on Tenerife and La Gomera. I am looking for documentation on this plant.

Dear Mister Happenstance,
Could it be possible to obtain a cutting from this plant???
I will pay all costs.
Thanks for reply,
Albert

The color of the leaves varies with exposure to the sun to some extent. Actually, this might be one of many species or varieties, they all look more or less the same.
