This plant produces squash that are rather large in diameter for their length. I'm not talking the typical huge squash you give away to neighbors and coworkers as these are still 8-10 inches long, shiny, and tender. I would recommend in general, but especially if you slice it lengthwise to use as a layer in caserole or as a lasagna noodle repalcement since they are wide.
