This plant is a hybrid between Camptosorous rhizophyllis (Walking Fern) and Asplenium platyneuron (Ebony Spleenwort). Some fronds are characteristic of one parent, the rest of the other parent, giving this the appearance of 2 ferns growing together. The Walking Fern fronds may easily be tip-layered, if it does not occur naturally.

Fern stays small in stature, so is suitable for terrariums or small containers.

Naturally occuring hybrid prefers to grow on limestone, so a mild to high alkaline soil is recommended.
