This little plant from the woodlands of New York State has been coming up in my garden for over 20 years every spring faithfully, some years it is larger then others..it likes shade and mulch and rich soil. It does contain some toxic elements and not recommended for ingesting. It makes a nice shade plant and a curiousity as its becoming harder to find. No natural pests but does like to stay out of the sun..I find its a delightful plant..
