Mine got off to a slow start; I think it got a bit sunburned in its first year with us. This year it is much stronger (though still in the same spot) and is quite attractive.

Perfect landscaping filler that multiplies like crazy. One ten gallon pot with ten plants purchased in 2002 became ten 24" pots ready to divide again by 2005. It doesn't die off like the large elephant ear during the winter, reliably decorates the house and yards all year around with a minimum of water. Very forgiving plant, even if you accidentally hack the roots back during division.

This was being sold as simply elephant ear locally and I thougt I was buying the large elephant ear. The danger being that it is a misrepresentation of the big one.
