Majestic Beauty is a pink cultivar that is thornless unlike the other Chorisia speciosa varieties. It has a smooth, thornless green trunk. Grafted varieties bloom younger and at a shorter size than seed grown ones. At maturity it can be 35 to 40 feet tall with a spread of 30 to 35 feet.

Plant in full sun and at least 10 feet from sidewalks or your house due to the shallow massive root system. It is an easy to care for tree with few pests or problems affecting it. The Majestic Beauty cultivar is grown frequently in Northern California.

What is special about this tree besides all the gorgeous flowers is that it will go briefly deciduous to flower with massive amounts of flowers in the fall, often in October when little else is putting on a colorful display.

Past flowering, pear shaped pods develop with seeds that have silky floss attached so they can flutter in the wind till they find a place to land.
