Datura metel 'Cornucopaea'

I have the honor of naming a new variant of datura metel Now called Datura Metel Var.Gor'e Island. Since i found this plant no other specimens have been reported.I collected seed from this variant of datura Metel on Gor'e Island off the coast of Senegal. The mother plant was well over ten feet tall with multiple trunks and had flowers and seed pods in various stages of development at the same time. It has bred true since 95 when the seed was collected. In a 10 gallon container it easily will reach 8 feet in height. It loses all the lower foliage untill a "crown" remains. The blooms are an intense purple with a white interior. The blooms can be single double or triple. My strain is usually triple. One specimen grown in situ in the front yard in full sun (Ft. Worth, Texas) reached 12 feet in height before frost killed it. The seeds germinate without too much difficulty. It only begins blooming here in Ft Worth Texas in late Sept in its first season and will continue if brought indoors blooming well near Christmas and again in spring. I am the only source of the seed for now though i have been entertaining offers for commercial quantities of seed.
