Hard to believe there is a variety of this very common weed - sow - thistles is often classified as "yellow daisy and dismissed by a lot of people. It is very common, growing in roadsides and ditches, and many other locations, often in tall grasses near large lots but will grow in poor soil. It look like a tall dandelion when blooming but to tell the different between it and the group - false dandelion - it have more leaves that grows up the flowering stalks - leaves that is lobed. When using a weedwhip or snapping the stems, it gives off large amount of water along with a milky juice. It is non - pricky compare with the other species, S. asper.
