This Australian cousin of the Hard Fern, grows in dense colonies in open, shady forest. I have had it growing in my garden for several years and it thrives with very little attention, although it does need a bit of water in the driest season. It is unusual among the Blechnum species in having no great difference between the fertile and barren fronds.
