Mine has gotten over 12' tall before cutting back. I like the narrow-leaf better than the broad-leaf, but still not my favorite plant. It came with the house when i bought 16 yrs ago, a mature well established plant at that time. It is poisonous, so beware if you have pets or young children that might put the berries in their mouth. It grows well here with no attention, little water during dry periods.

I have rooted over 100 croton plants of this variety. They were taken from cuttings that were placed beside the road to be picked up and thrown away as garbage. I am glad I saw them because they rooted very easily in sandy soil, but watered daily by a timed spray "mist". They are cold tender and must be protected from all frost.
