Quite frost tender but will defoliate and survive -2C for short periods. Feed as per Citrus. Fruit picked mature and allowed to soften off the tree taste somewhat similar to Custard apple but more acidic. As the common name implies the fruit tastes very much like the filling for a lemon meringue pie/tart.
