This eucalypt tree is named for the very strong scent from its leaves, which combine a strong eucalypt scent with a strong peppermint scent. Lilke all eucalypts, it is a fast growing tree. It has a rough fibrous bark and the small white flowers are borne in dense almost spherical clusters along the branchlets. The woody seed capsules (gum-nuts) are held on the tree a long time, so that seed collection is easy and seed germinates quite easily. I have two trees in my garden, one that was already established and one that I grew from seed.
