It is absolutely covered with white flowers in late spring, and carries enormous numbers of woody seed capsules, which are held on the shrub until it is damaged by fire. This shrub is easily grown from seed and we have used it extensively in revegetation projects. The shrub is very prickly, each leaf ending in a sharp, hard point. We have one growing almost in our garden (behind the back fence), which is as close as my wife will allow such a prickly bush. |
