I grow the Passion Flower mainly for food for the caterpillers that become Gulf Fritillary and Zebra butterflies. The flowers somehow develop even when the plant is stripped of foliage. Blooms all summer until first frost. Likes moist, well-drained soil. I never water.

Grows as a vine up trees, fences and arbors. Also grows as ground cover. Can grow up to 25' in my yard on a cedar tree. Cuttings are taken from baby roots but all the root must be dug or it will not "take." Highly scented. Can be invasive. Freezes but comes back.
