This Tree grows well in Tropical Conditions in Australia. Tolerates Temperature ranges of -3 to 45deg in both reasonably dry and very wet conditions with adequate drainage. It has deep purple flowers and deep green leaves in the tropics. Flowers somewhat later than other species in the area. Slow to copice, (6 years) with mine having just started to send shoots from the trunk. (Currently Stick Like)

This is another species of Jacaranda I have seen growing in the local arboretum. It is supposed to be too tender for this area (9b) but it looked to be doing fine. It has much different leaves from the more common mimosifolia- larger and ovoid/lancelote, and much limier green. The flowers are light purple, but supposedly are fuschia in more tropical climates.
