This is a small shrub. There's a very similar species of Pink Powderpuff, but this one (Calliandra brevipes) never grows taller than 1.8m, and has almost equal flowers in every inflorescence (other species may have tubular flowers in the middle of the powderpuffs, and can grow up to 4-5m).

This is a nice plant for hedges and fences, tolerating pruning very well. The flowers shows all their beauty at nights, although the blooms stay there for a few days. At mornings, you could tell it's even shining!

It can live in a variety of well drained soils, full sun, but won't tolerate frosts.
