This plant needs warm temperatures, preferably above 50 degrees at all times. It thrives in regular moist potting soil, but I let it dry a little more in the winter when growth slows down. Very easy to start from cuttings. Has more color in the sun, but I grow mine in dappled shade to cut down on watering demands. I usually start new plants each fall, so I don't know how large a potted plant would get. In the tropics, they are quite large (10 feet or more). Prune or pinch back to control legginess.
