Strangely enough, this plant has dependably behaved as a perennial in my garden for three years now -- I've never seen this from other gomphrena varieties and they all are supposed to be annuals as far as I am aware of. It is actually making little bitty 'tubers' (about an inch or two long max and a centimenter to an inch wide) that it regrows from. And of course it reseeds as well.
