I've kept Cairo Lyric alive for the past 27 years. It's been difficult at times. She seems to like dry rocky soil and she needs fertilizer. She will not survive neglect. Not a robust grower, but a faithful bloomer. None of the pictures do her justice. The golden standards and those velvet purple falls are unique. I've looked for substitutes every year. I've tried Suave & Vandal Spirit but nothing meets Cairo's coloring. Truly a unique iris. Does anyone have more information about the hybridizer?
