These beautiful tree is quite something to see. Its long branch like fronds hold thonsands of little leaves about the size of your little finger nail. The leaves are rich green on top and a stricking siler on the bottom. This is to reflect heat rising from the earth back towards the round and its own trunk. If the tree were to fall over, the trunk would grow new trees all along itself. It grows these incredable little 'things' called Koru's which is often used on Moari design and architecture. Simply an amazing tree.
I sucessfully grow them to PB12 size with out even touching them in Auckland New Zealand

This is a New Zealand tree fern, found mainly in the South Island in hilly forest valleys. Grows mainly at high elevation in the North Island. The old fronds stay attached, forming a skirt around the top of the trunk.
