One of the most common species in brazilian savannas, this is a small tree (rarely plants of this family grow like that) with a thick but soft bark that isolates it from natural fire.

It has velvet, pale green leaves. The blooms are white heads that may appear massively all over the plant during the winter, depending on the specimen.

It grows usually on deep red clay soils, but may miraculously develop well on thin sandy soils, on rock fissures. Itīs a really adaptable plant. It likes moderate temperatures, full sun and regular watering (rarely watering it during the winter).
