This Crinum readily adapts to pot culture as a winter dry storage bulb. I keep it in a barely heated garage (always above freezing) and it comes through with no problem. It is fairly slow to bloom from seed, but this summer my seed-grown bulbs are flowering; they are worth the 6-year wait! South African plants are not for everyone, but if you love them, this species is a must have--even in zone 5.
